The Book of Spells by Ella Harrison is one of those books that feels like magic in my hands, thanks to both the beautiful illustrations and the witchy wisdom contained within.
Ella’s approach to witchcraft is very similar to my own, with an emphasis on respecting the spirits, spell ingredients, and ritual tools she works with.
I absolutely love the way her spells are written, weaving folklore, magical symbolism, traditional witchcraft practices, and animist belief.
She did a fantastic job covering the basics of spells and magic in the book’s introductory “Spellcraft” section, touching on all the foundational topics a beginner witch needs to know to get started.
But The Book of Spells is also a wonderful resources for more experienced practitioners.
I can see myself pulling this book down from the shelf when I need inspiration for workings related to anything from personal success to home protection.
