These Horned God prayer beads are made with 8mm genuine crystal beads and antique bronze -toned metal spacer beads on stainless steel wire, with a metal charm representing the Horned God at each end. This set measures 15 inches in length.
★ ABOUT THE HORNED GOD★
The Horned God is a pagan deity that represents the divine masculine. In the Wiccan tradition, he is viewed as the male counterpart to the Goddess. Worship of various Horned Gods is as old as history itself. The earliest possible representation is a cave painting known as The Sorcerer, which dates back to 13,000 BC and may depict a “master of animals.” Horned deities from various ancient cultures include the Egyptian God Osiris, the Greek God Pan, and the Celtic God Cernunnos.
In modern paganism, the Horned God is associated with nature, wild places, animals, hunting, fertility, sexuality and the life-death cycle. In British Traditional Wicca, he has a dualistic nature: the Oak King (summer, light, warmth, life) and the Holly King (winter, darkness, cold, death). The two kings engage in an endless battle, reflecting the seasonal wheel of the year.
